Jim is a fifth generation Floridian born in Lakeland in 1972. He moved to Texas at the age of 3. Relocated to Colorado by 5 where he bounced back and forth between Colorado and Florida from the ages of 16 to 32. Music and art have always been an extremely important part of his life. He got his first tattoo in Jacksonville, Florida when he was 17. When he was 24 he became a single father and over the next decade he held several jobs but none made him happy. At 34 he decided to pursue his passion and started his tattoo apprenticeship at Phat Katz Tattoo in Ybor City, Florida in 2007.
Driven to make his dream come true, he eagerly took on every tattoo that came his way and within 6 months secured a full time spot as an artist. During this time he met his beautiful wife Rebekah. After a 3 year stint in Ybor City, he took a position at Atomic Tattoos in Tampa, Florida where he spent the last 4 years continuing to learn and grow alongside some great friends and tattooers .
After years of waiting for the perfect spot to open up in Key West, Jim and his family made the move to Southernmost Tattoo in the summer of 2014. Jim views every tattoo as a chance to learn and grow as a tattoo artist. While specializing in realism, Jim has the skills to make any idea into your custom tattoo.
